Not good enough.

Ever heard that tape playing in your mind? At times I've actually awakened to the sound of myself moaning as those words played over and over.

What feeds that?

Probably a combination of life experiences and circumstances.
Big life traumas and unavoidable barbs sent from the pit via people encountered along life's path.

Something as simple as what happened to me yesterday.

So I was driving down our street when a man backed out of his driveway. (Actually, I didn't see the driver, but I choose to believe better of the fairer sex than this.)

He backs into the middle of the street facing toward me. Means he'll be headed in the opposite direction on the opposite side of the street, right?

Then he sits there, unmoving, so I pull toward the right to continue along my way between him and the curb.

What does he do? Blasts his horn like I've committed a federal offense.

Really??

So you get the picture. Sometimes we are sent messages from unwitting, flawed humans that program the tape to play all the louder.

Not good enough.

A few days ago I was walking with a precious sister in the Lord and we were talking about this.

We asked each other for the answer. How do we silence the voice from the pit?

God.

Only God can stop the incessant accuser. Only His word and perspective can push the STOP button and silence Satan.

Zechariah 2:8 ... For whoever touches you touches the apple of His eye.

Isaiah 49:16 See I have engraved you on the palms of My hands.

John 15:13, 15 Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. I have called you friends. ~ Jesus

Matthew 10:30 Even all the very hairs of your head are all numbered.

Romans 8:37-39 For in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the LOVE of God that is in Christ Jesus.

Good enough for Him? You bet!
